The Delhi Government has notified the first amendment to the Delhi Solar Energy Policy 2023, increasing the state capital subsidy for residential rooftop solar systems. The revised subsidy now stands at ₹10,000 (~$116.28)/kW, capped at ₹30,000 (~$348.84) for systems with a capacity of up to 3 kW.

Delhi launched its solar policy in 2016, and in 2023, introduced an updated solar roadmap with the goal of achieving 6,000 MW of installed capacity by 2025. Both policies promote solar adoption across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors through capital subsidies, generation-based incentives, and simplified net metering.
Apart from this, under the new solar policy, the Delhi government is also offering a solar subsidy in addition to the CFA. Through the recently launched National Portal for Rooftop Solar, one can directly apply for solar subsidy online and track the entire process from application submission to transfer of funds to the respective bank account.
